Estherville – Funeral services will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church at 1:30 p.m. Thursday for Cora M. Jostand, 70, who died at Holy Family Hospital Tuesday [April 5, 1988]. The Rev. Fr. Thomas Topf will conduct the services will burial to follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home. A Legion of Mary Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. and a parish Rosary at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Jostand was born June 10, 1917, in Allamakee County, the daughter of George and Romina (Beighle) Gramlich. She received her education to eighth grade in LaCrugus School and was married to Jerome Jostrand, Sr. at Winterset Nov. 21, 1941.

The couple resided in Waukon after their marriage until moving to Estherville in 1943 where they lived the rest of their lives. Mrs. Jostand was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church here.

Surviving are five daughters, four sons, and one stepson: Mrs. Virgil (Shirley) Winke of Janesville, Wis.; Mrs. Bob (Betty) Langfitt of Estherville; Mrs. Harold (Bernadine) Frederick of Milford; Mrs. Don (Cathy) Grafton of Algona; Mrs. Terry (Becky) Helmers of Dunnell, Minn.; Casper Jostand of Waukon; Jerome Jostand, Jr. of Lansing; Robert Jostand of Esthervlle; Richard Jostand of Milford, and Stanley Jostand, a stepson, of Tayloridge, Ill.

Forty-four grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren also survive as do three sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Alice Murphy of Janesville, Wis., Mrs. Selma Larsen of Waukon, Mrs. Elsie Super of Cedar Rapids, Irvin Gramlich of Fargo, N.D., and Daniel Gramlich of Waukon.

Her husband preceded her in death April 14, 1962. She was also preceded in death by two granddaughters, Angela and Danette Jostand; her parents, and seven brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April, 1988)
