Superior – Services for Mike Hilbert, 16, will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Estherville, with Father Thomas Topf, officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. He died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 1988.

Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home of Estherville is in charge of arrangements. Legion of Mary Rosary and Parish Rosary were prayed Friday at the funeral home.

He was born June 23, 1972 in Estherville, the son of Robert and Irene (Ehrhardt) Hilbert and attended Estherville schools. He was a sophomore this year, and very active in sports, participating in wrestling, track, baseball, and his favorite football. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include his parents, Bob and Irene of Superior; one brother, Brian, Independence, and one sister, Sonia Hilbert, Estherville.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 17, 1988)

Mike Joseph Hilbert, the son of Robert and Irene (Ehrhardt) Hilbert was born June 23, 1972 in Estherville, Iowa and departed this life on Wednesday, September 14, 1988 at the age of 16 years, 1 month and 21 days.

He received his education in the Estherville schools, where he was a sophomore at Estherville High School. Mike was very active in sports, participating in wresting, track, baseball, and his favorite football.

He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville.

Mike is survived by his parents, Bob and Irene of Superior, Iowa; one brother, Brian Hilbert and his fiancée, Rhonda Hess of Independence, Iowa; one sister, Sonia Hilbert and her fiancé, Robert Erickson of Estherville. He has been preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. (MC)
