Eugene “Gene” Carr
Eugene George [Sullivan] Carr, the son of George and Mary (Sullivan) Carr, was born June 21, 1934, in Whittemore, Iowa and departed this life on Thursday, February 18, 1999, at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, at the age of 64 years, 7 months and 27 days.

He received his education from Estherville schools, graduating from Estherville High School in 1953. Following high school, Gene attended Estherville Junior College and also Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa.

Following his education, Gene made his home and farmed on a farm west of Estherville until his death.

Gene was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville.

Gene is survived by his brothers and sister, Dennis Carr and his wife, Marilyn of Monfort, Wisconsin; Delores Taormina and her husband, Vincent of Lexington, Kentucky; Harold Carr and his wife, Patricia of Spirit Lake, Iowa; Thomas F. Carr and his wife, Linda of Moville, Iowa; his step-mother, Mabel Carr of Moville, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews. He has been preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Helen Fonder. (MC)
