Estherville – Services for Mrs. Wesley (Leona M.) Burdorf, 65, will be held Thurday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Thomas J. Topf officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. She died Monday, Dec. 7, 1987 at Holy Family Hospital.

Friends may call at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday. Legion of Mary Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. and Parish Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral chapel.

She was born Oct. 3, 1922 at Laurens, the daughter of John and Amelia (Messman) Kirsch and attended Laurens schools. On Dec. 29, 1946 she was united in marriage with Wesley Burdorf at Sioux City. She has lived in Sioux City, Laurens, Ft. Dodge and Estherville and was employed by WADCO Foods until her health forced her to retire. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include four sons: Edwin, Emmetsburg; Francis, Armstrong; Charlie and Thomas, Woodward; six grandchildren; one brother, Ray Kirsch, Laurens and a sister, Irene Baker, Traer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband who died in May, 1971; eight brothers and sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December, 1987)
