Estherville – Services for Joanne E. Brown, 59 of Estherville will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Tom Nash officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. She died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 1997 at Holy Family Hospital.

Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home with Parish Vigil service at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was born Jan. 6, 1938 at Dayton, the daughter of Verlin and Mildred (Schwerring) Blair. She attended Dayton School and graduated from high school there. Nov. 28, 1959 she married Leland Brown at Fort Dodge. Following marriage the couple lived in Fort Dodge for eight years and she worked at Mercy Hospital as a nurse’s aide. They moved to Westminster, Calif. and she worked at several hospitals. In 1977 they moved south of Graettinger, then Lidderdale, then in 1992 to Estherville. She has been employed at Wal-Mart in Spirit Lake. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville.

Survivors include her husband, Leland of Estherville; daughters Mrs. Rick (Julie) Hoffmeyer of Estherville; Chris Brown, Fallbrook, Calif.; grandchildren: Amanda, Rick, Beth and Taylor Hoffmeyer; brothers Kenneth Blair, Ft. Dodge; Jim Blair, Harcourt; Paul Blair, Dawson; and Tom of Dayton; a sister, Mrs. Wilbur (Phyllis) Weiderin of Churdan.
