Estherville – Mary Margaret White, 85, Estherville, died Sunday, March 29, 1987 at Rosewood Manor Nursing Home in Estherville.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville, with Father Thomas Topf and Father Gerald Fisch officiating. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Monday at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville. There will be a Legion of Mary Rosary at 4:30 p.m. Monday and a Parish Rosary at 7:30 p.m., bot at the funeral home.

She was born Aug. 20, 1901 in Eldora to F.X. and Louise (Wolf) White. She received her education in Eldora and at Buena Vista College in Storm Lake.

She taught school in Hardin, Grundy and Hamilton Counties in Iowa. She also owned and operated a general store and was postmaster in St. Anthony for seven years. She then moved to Estherville where she was housekeeper for Msgr. James Duhigg for 23 years. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville.

She is survived by brothers, Edward White, Portsmith, Ohio, Francis White, Coralville; sisters, Sr. Mary Vianney White, Rochester, Minn., Gertrude Lawler, Gifford, Helen Agatha Losgren, San Jacinto, Calif., Lee Leocadia, Decatur, Ga., and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and a sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 30, 1987)
