Mrs. James Jensen Dies of Leukemia
Mrs. James (Emma) Jensen), 74, died at her home at 1308 3rd Ave. S. at 3:30 a.m. this morning. She had been in failing health for the past nine years. Death was attributed to Leukemia.

Mrs. Jensen was born July 2, 1887 in Nykbing Morse, Denmark, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fiske Christiansen. Her education was received in Denmark.

She was married Jan. 17, 1914 to James Jensen at Humboldt. She came to the United States and Chicago when she was 22 and moved to Humboldt in 1913. In 1929, the Jensens moved to a farm near Estherville. They retired in 1945 and moved to Estherville.

She was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church and ALCW.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Vernon and Orville, both of Denver, Colo.; two daughters, Mrs. Alfred (Violet) Bergeson of Plover; and Mrs. Walter (Fern) Jackson of New Hampton and 11 grandchildren. Three sisters and one brother in Denmark also survive.

Family services are set for 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Estherville Lutheran Church. Public services are to follow at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Roy Hendrickson will officiate with burial to be in the East Side Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Sternborg-Reese Funeral Home beginning Thursday at 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Friday. The casket will then be taken to the church to lie in state until time of services.

Pallbearers will be Chris Petersen, William Nielsen, Bert Lind, Edwin Christianson, Hans Johnson and Lee Jones.

The family of Mrs. Jensen has established a memorial fund. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 29, 1962)
