Estherville – Services for Kathryn J. Sweely, 43, of Beatty, Nev. will be held Wednesday, December 14, at 10:30 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville with Father Tom Nash officiating. Interment will be held at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Estherville. She died Friday, December 9 in Beatty.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 13 from 4-9 p.m. at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville. A Legion of Mary Rosary service will be held at 4 p.m. and a Parish Vigil Service at 7:45 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.

She was born May 17, 1951 in Emmetsburg, the daughter of Albert Eugene and Mary (Moran) Sweely. She received her education at St. Patrick’s Catholic school and Estherville schools, graduating from Estherville High School in 1969. She then attended Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville.

She lived in Estherville following her education and was employed at Glassite in Dunnell, Minn. In 1977, she moved to Wyoming and was employed by Risslar and McMurray Brothers Construction Co. in Caspar, Wyo. She operated heavy equipment on road construction in Wyoming, Colorado and Arizona. In 1990, she moved to Beatty and was employed by the LAC Mining Co. She operated and drove heavy equipment hauling gold ore. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville.

Survivors include her parents of Estherville; two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Patricia Ann) Stumpf of Alpha, Minn.; and Theresa Marie Cohrs of Estherville; several nieces and nephews; her maternal grandmother, Evelyn Moran of Emmetsburg and several cousins.
