Romaine Pluth
Estherville – Services for Romaine John Pluth, 69, will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Tom Topf officiating. Interment will e in the church cemetery with military service by American Legion and V.F.W. He died Sunday, April 7, 1991 at V.A. Hospital, Minneapolis. Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born March 22, 1922 at Estherville, the son of John and Antonia (Kohles) Pluth, and attended Emmet County rural school. He has lived all his life in Emmet County. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II and after service returned to Estherville to farm the home place. Pluth never married. He was employed by various industries. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church; V.F.W. Post 3388 and American Legion Post 91.

Survivors include two brothers: Leonard and Urban, Estherville and Mrs. Elmer (Loretta) Spoo, Gruver.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 10, 1991)
