Estherville – Funeral services for Helen A. Molacek, 95, of Estherville will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 1998 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville with Monsignor Tom Nash officiating. Interment will be at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Estherville. She died Saturday [November 28, 1998] at Rosewood Manor Care Center in Estherville.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today, Monday, with a parish vigil service at 7 p.m. at the Henry-Olson Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

She was born on April 5, 1903, in Clarkson, Neb., the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Rujucka) Podany. She received her education in the rural Clarkson, Neb. schools.

On Oct. 21, 1921, she was united in marriage to Adolph Molacek of Clarkson She moved to Mallard in the late 1930s and to Estherville in 1947. She was employed by the Gardston Hotel and later Andy’s Pastry Shop. Adolph died April 16, 1976. She moved to Scottsdale, Ariz. In 1978 to live with her son and daughter-in-law, Clete and Kaye and granddaughter, Michele. In 1991, they moved to Huntington Beach, Calif.

She moved back to Estherville in 1996 and lived with her grandson and his wife, John and Julie and family. She became a resident of Rosewood Manor in Estherville in February of 1997.

She attended St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville.

She is survived by her daughter, Wilma Walker of Tigard, Ore.; sons, Stephen Molacek of Glendale, Ariz.; Clete Molacek of Huntington Beach, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; and 31 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, one grandson, one great grandson, four sisters and two brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 30, 1998)
