Services for Mrs. Coady Tomorrow
Funeral services for Mrs. Martin C. Coady, 90, longtime Estherville resident who died here yesterday, will be held at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, the Rv. Father James H. Duhigg officiating.

Rosary was recited last night and will be recited at 8:30 o’clock tonight at the Sternborg funeral chapel. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s cemetery.

Mrs. Coady had been hospitalized for the past month recovering from a stroke and a fractured hip and died at 7:35 a.m. yesterday at Holy Family hospital of old age and complications.

Born June 21, 1862, in Hillsborough, Ill., she lived in Illinois and Kentucky before coming to Iowa and Emmet county around 1900. She was a graduate of the Litchfield, Ill., school of music.

On Feb. 15, 1897, she married Martin Charles Coady in Taylorville, Ill. Her maiden name was Ellen Harlan Cook. She has been a member of the Catholic church all her life and had been a member of St. Patrick’s Altar and Rosary society.

Surviving her death are two daughters, Mrs. Paul Giblin of Williamsburg and Mrs. John O’Neill of Armstrong; a brother, John Thomas Cook of Columbus, Mont.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death about 20 years ago. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 22, 1952)
