Estherville – Services for Leo Albert Cox, 91, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville with Father Thomas Topf presider. Interment will be in the church cemetery. He died Thursday, Aug. 6, 1992 at Rosewood Manor Nursing Home, Estherville.

Friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Sunday. Legion of Mary service will be at 4 p.m. and Parish Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.

He was born March 24, 1902 at Mantorville, Minn., the son of George and Felicite (Lauson) Cox and attended country schools. On Sept. 22, 1920, he was united in marriage with Mildred Iseminger. Following marriage the couple farmed in the Estherville and Dunnell areas, and upon retiring, moved into Dunnell.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Charles (Leona) Anderson, Fairmont; Mrs. Floyd (Luella) Johnson, Estherville; Beverly Wyatt, Anoka, Minn., and Mrs. Bob (Marlene) Stampe, Warren, Mich.; four sons: Melvin, Fairmont, Marvin, Estherville; Daryl, St. Paul, Minn. and Keith, Detroit; one daughter-in-law, Janis Cox, Graettinger; 30 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Lauson Cox, Hollandale, Minn. and Lawrence Cox, New Haven, Conn., and sisters, Genevieve Doebbling, Braham, Minn., Dorothy Brown, El Paso, Texas; Evelyn Fillingham, Rapid City, S.D. and Ruth Block, Stewartville, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his wife; son, Duane; three grandsons; one brother; one sister and two sons-in-law. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 8, 1992)
