John David Ingvall
Estherville – Services for longtime Emmet County resident John David (J.D.) Ingvall, 95, will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Ringsted with the Rev. Norris Hanson officiating. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery, Estherville, with Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Ingvall will lie in state 12-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.

He died Wednesday, Aug. 10 at Holy Family Hospital.

Mr. Ingvall was born Dec. 29, 1881 in Hedemora, Dolarna, Sweden to Eric A. and Sarah Pierson Ingvall. He received his education in Sweden and came to the United States at the age of 14. He married Nina Riggs March 6, 1907 at her home north of Estherville and farmed in Emmet and Palo Alto Counties his entire life, retiring in 1951.

Surviving him are one son, Lloyd Ingvall, Estherville; seven daughters, Mrs. Alice Weber, Estherville, Mrs. Herb (Laura) Hanson, Port Angeles, Wash., Mrs. Mabel Howard, Estherville, Mrs. Don (Dorothy) Mead, Fremont, Neb., Mrs. Lavon DeLoss, Spencer, Mrs. Bill (Evelyn) Hansen, Ringsted and Mrs. Keith (Florence) Willison, Estherville; 35 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. Twin sons, twin grandchildren, twin great-grandchildren and twin great-great grandchildren survive him.

Mr. Ingvall was preceded in death by his wife, two sons, four grandchildren, his parents, his twin brothers and three sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 12, 1977)
