Kenneth Hornby Dies April 2
Kenneth Harms Hornby, 55, died Sunday, April 2, 1972, at 7 p.m. at Holy Family Hospital.

He was born Oct. 31, 1916, at White, S.D., the son of Richard G. and Sophia Harms Hornby. He came to Estherville with his parents as a boy and received his education in Estherville schools. He attended Estherville Junior College for a year and a half.

He was married Feb. 10, 1942, to Regina Ferguson at Mt. Clemens, Mich.

He worked at the Estherville Creamery for two years until he went into service in World War II. When he returned in 1945 he worked as a switchman on the Rock Island railroad until his illness.

He was a member of the Christian Church. Surviving are his wife, Regina, two sons, Craig and Roger of Estherville. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Reese-Henry Funeral Chapel in Estherville, the Rev. Robert Miller officiating. Burial will be in East Side cemetery.

Treasurer Office Closed Wednesday
Emmet County Treasurers office will be closed Wednesday, April 5, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the funeral services of Kenneth Hornby. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 4, 1972)
