Estherville – Services for Anthony (Tony) Theesfeld, 78, will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patarick’s Catholic Church with Father Tom Nash, Presider. Interment will be in the church cemetery. He died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 1997 at his home.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home. Legion of Mary Rosary will be at 4:30 p.m. and parish vigil service will be at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was born July 22, 1918 at Varina, the son of Henry and Barbara (Wagner) Theesfeld. He received his education in the Terril School. He served in the United States Army Engineer Corp from 1941-45. He married Agnes Spear on August 21, 1943 at Estherville. Following the war, he returned to Estherville, where he owned and operated a service station. He also farmed and worked at Riverview Golf Course. He served two terms at Emmet County Supervisor.

He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3388.

Survivors include his wife, Agnes of Estherville; daughters: Judith (Bykowaki, Minneapolis; Mrs. Larry (Mary) Brown, Denver; Jane Colt, Chaska, Minn.; sons: Edward of Susanville, Calif.; Paul of Estherville and Douglas of Colorado Springs, Colo.; brothers: John and Thomas of Estherville; sisters: Mrs. Edd (Collen) Boucher, Estherville; Julia Reuland, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Marie Roberts, East Moline, Ill. and Mrs. Milton (Viola) Kingsley of Kansas City, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parent; three brothers and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 23, 1997)
