Woman Dies After Attack
Mrs. Josephine Hillestad, 82, lifetime Emmet County resident, died at 5:30 p.m. yesterday at Holy Family Hospital. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Mrs. Hillestad had been in failing health for the past month.

The former Josephine Stanerson was born June 12, 1883, on the farm of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stanerson, northeast of Estherville.

In July 1909 she was married to Thomas Hillestad in the home of her parents. She spent her entire life in Emmet County and Estherville.

Mrs. Hillestad was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church.

She is survived by one son, Joe Hillestad of Garden Grove, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Virgil (Madeline) Teasdale of Ann Arbor, Mich.; five grandchildren; one great-grandchildren; one brother, John Stanerson of Estherville; and one sister, Mrs. Grace Hanson of Estherville.

Mrs. Hillestad was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five sisters, and two brothers.

Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Estherville Lutheran Church, Rev. Roy Hendrickson officiating. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Reese Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Wednesday and until noon Friday, when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until time of services. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 10, 1966)
