Maurice Hill Dies Sunday After Attack
Maurice Hill, 44, proprietor of Central Produce Co. of Estherville, died at 2:35 a.m. Sunday shortly after suffering a heart attack at his home.

He became ill during the night and was taken to the hospital where he died shortly after arrival.

Maurice Gardner Hill was born Dec. 2, 1920, at Heron Lake, Jackson County, Minn., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Hill.

He graduated from Heron Lake schools and Sept. 6, 1941, he was married to Ardelle Lenox in Estherville.

Mr. Hill came to Estherville in 1938.

He spent more than three years in service during World War II in New Guinea, the Philippines and Luzon.

He was a member of the Methodist church and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Mr. Hill is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Danny (Barbara) Donovan of Estherville; a son, Allan, at home, and a brother, Rodney Hill of Buchanan, W. Va.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Estherville Methodist Church, Rev Fred W. Ortmeyer officiating. Family service will be at 11 a.m. at Fuhrman Funeral Home. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery, where there will be military services.

Friends may call at the funeral home any time until 12 noon Wednesday when the body will be taken to the church. The casket will not be opened after the service.

Pallbearers are Belva Ross, Paul Myers, Leo Zinnel, Orval Taylor, John Rugtiv and Ronald Prior. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 29, 1965)
