Estherville Couple’s Son Dies Here
Dan Heidt, 35, son of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Heidt of Estherville, died of a brain tumor at 9:35 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, at Holy Family Hospital in Estherville.

Services for Mr. Heidt will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home in Estherville with the Rev. Harvey Throop officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery.

Mr. Heidt was born April 19, 1938, in Seattle, Wash., to Mr. and Mrs. Milton Heidt, received his education and was graduated from Davenport High School.

Mr. Heidt lived in Chicago for several years but appeared in television commercials across the nation and in several Broadway plays. He appeared in ‘Damn Yankees,’ ‘The Boyfriend,’ ‘West Side Story’ as a singer in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s quartette, as a singer in ‘Talent ’65,’ ‘Bye Bye Birdie,’ ‘Unsinkable Molly Brown,’ and ‘Guys and Dolls.’

He is survived by his parents; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Emma Heidt of Estherville; and one brother. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and paternal grandfather.

Pallbearers will be Claron Houge, Ward Fletcher, Fred Elwood, Morton Evans, Lloyd Berger and Stephen Gentry.

Friends may call at Reese-Henry Funeral Home in Estherville until time of services on Tuesday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 26, 1973)
