Estherville – Services for Mrs. Iva Hedwick, 89, Estherville, were held today at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Max Goldman officiating. Interment was in East Side Cemetery with Henry and Olson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.Mrs. Hedwick died Saturday, April 9, 1977, at Rosewood Manor.
Born May 28, 1887, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Carty Ash. She married Oscar Hedwick on Aug. 16, 1906. Following their marriage, Mr. Hedwick worked as a conductor for the Rock Island Railroad and the couple resided in Estherville for the past 45 years.
She was a member of the Methodist Church and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainman Ladies’ Auxiliary.
Mrs. Hedwick is survived by two granddaughters, Mrs. Ken (Ann) DeMoss, Estherville, and Mrs. Lorne (Linda) Turner, Tower, Minn.; five great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. C.L. Fleming, Hot Springs, S.D.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one daughter, three brothers and two sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 12, 1977)
