Albert Hecht Dies; Rites are Thursday
Albert W. Hecht, 76, retired farmer, died at 4 a.m. today at Holy Family hospital. Mr. Hecht had been in poor health for some time.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran church with a private family service at 11 a.m. and public service at 2 p.m. The Rev. William Henline will officiate. Burial will be in Eastside cemetery. Friends may call at Sandin Funeral Home from 7 p.m. today through Wednesday night. The body will lie in state at Immanuel Lutheran church from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday and 12 to 2 p.m. Thursday. The casket will not be opened after services. Pall bearers will be Arnold Larsen, Spencer; Eldon Hecht, Theodore Hecht, Harold Ditzel, all of Lytton; Herbert Glasnapp, Rockwell City; and Allen Glasnapp, Armstrong.

Mr. Hecht was born May 13, 1878 at Mansfield, Bremer county, Iowa, the son of William and Albertina Hecht. He was married Sept. 8, 1909 to Elise Ditzel.

The Hechts farmed in Calhoun county near Lytton until 1927 when they moved to a farm southwest of Dunnell. Mr. Hecht retired from the farm in 1945 and he and Mrs. Hecht moved to Estherville where they have lived ever since.

He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran church.

Survivors include his widow, one son, Wilfred William of Dunnell; one daughter, Valaria Mildred of St. Paul; six grandchildren, two sisters, Tina Becker of Brainerd, Minn., and Minnie Battin of Sandpointe, Idaho; and one brother, Henry Hecht of Lytton.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Hildegarde, three brothers and two sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 22, 1955)
