Karoline "Carrie" Waldee, 1886 - 1977

ESTHERVILLE - Mrs. Lars (Carrie) Waldee, 90, Estherville, died Thursday afternoon at Holy Family Hospital, Estherville.

Services for Mrs. Waldee are 2 p.m. Monday at the Wallingford Lutheran Church with the Wesley Brodin officiating. Interment will be in the Wallingford Lutheran Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, after 10 a.m. Sunday until noon Monday, when the body will be taken to the church.

Mrs. Waldee was born Sept. 29, 1886, in Norway and came to the United States with her parents at the age of 19. She was married to Lars Waldee April 17, 1909, at Graettinger. The couple farmed in the High Lake area until retiring n 1948. Mr. Waldee died in 1969 and she was a resident of the Good Samaritan Center, Estherville, for many years. She was a member of the Wallingford Lutheran Church.

She is survived by two sons, E. Leslie Waldee, Bethesda, Md., and Ernest Waldee, Los Gatos, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. L.W. (Clara) Dickinson, Estherville, Mrs. Roger (Bernice) Shonkwiler, Estherville, and Mrs. Leo (Agnes) Olson, Las Cruces, N.M.; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one brother in the United State, Einar Maland, Prairie Farm, Wisc., and several brothers and sisters in Norway.
