Monday Rites for Ex-resident of Wallingford

Funeral services for Lars Waldee, 84, formerly of the High Lake and Wallingford areas, resident of the Good Samaritan Center who died Friday, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Wallingford Lutheran Church.

He was born Dec. 23, 1884, at Ardal, Norway, to Mr. and Mrs. Lars Waldee and was educated in Norway. He came to the United States in 1906 and moved to the High Lake area. He was married April 17, 1909, to Carrie Maland at Graettinger. The couple lived in the High Lake and Wallingford area until retirement from farming in 1948.

He was a member of the Wallingford Lutheran Church. Survivors include: wife, Carrie; sons, E. Leslie, Bethesda, Md.; Ernest G., Los Gatos, Calif.; daughters, Mrs. L.W. (Clara) Dickinson, Humboldt; Mrs. Roger (Bernice) Shonkwiler, Estherville; Mrs. Leo (Agnes) Olson, West Harford, Conn.; 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; and one brother and one sister, both living in Norway.

Rev. John Pannkuk will officiate at the services; burial will be at the Wallingford Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home, Estherville until noon Monday.
