Services for Harold Henry Weir, 78, will be held Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. John Besore II officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. He died Monday, Sept 30, 1991 at his rural Estherville home. Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

He was born May 16, 1913 at Estherville, the son of Matthew and Effie (Snyder) Weir, and attended school in Canada and graduated from Emmet Consolidated High School, rural Estherville. On Sept 12, 1938 he married Ruby Sytsma at Jackson, Minn. He has lived in the Estherville area most of his married life except four years he farmed near Windom, Minn. He worked for John Morrell and Co. 32 years. He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Estherville and taught Sunday School. He served in the US Army during World War Two in the Philipines.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby, Estherville; two sons; Stan Nickels, Apple Valley, Minn, and Jeff Weir, Estherville; two daughters; Mrs. Harlan (Joyce) Cuklanz, Wilbraham, Maine and Mrs. Tim (Susan) Halstead, Mankato, Minn; 10 grandchildren; one brother Alfred Weir, Perry an one sister Mrs. Herman (Effie) Rohde, Estherville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; two sisters; two half sisters.
