Mavis Haines
Estherville – Mavis Haines, 56, died Thursday at Methodist Hospital, Rochester, Minn.

Services for Mrs. Haines will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Estherville Lutheran Church with interment in East Side Cemetery. Friends may call at Henry and Olson Funeral Home here until noon Saturday.

Mrs. Haines was born June 30, 1920, in Lily S.D., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Olson. She graduated from high school at Conde, S.D., and moved to Emmet County in 1939, living in the Jack Creek area.

She married Orva Haines on Feb. 1, 1940, in Estherville and the couple lived in the Estherville area since. She was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Haines is survived by her husband, Orva; her mother, Mrs. Doshia Olson, Estherville; one son, Gary Haines, Muscatine; one daughter, Mrs. Don (Beth) Egel, Algona; three grandchildren; four brothers, Earl Olson, Aberdeen, S.D., Vernon Olson, Redfield, S.D., Delmer Olson, Ringsted, and Bernard Olson, Seal Beach, Calif.; five sisters, Mrs. Winston (Donalda) Kerber, Fenton; Mrs. Wilbur (Murial) Veale, Colton, Calif., Mrs. Delores Strum, Sioux Falls, S.D., Mrs. Bernice Boggess, Spokane, Wash., and Mrs. Leola Reimers, Clark, S.D.
