Estherville Woman is Dead at 69
Mrs. Claude Griffith, 69, Estherville, died at 12:40 a.m. Sunday [August 4, 1968] at her home from a heart attack.She had been suffering from a heart condition since last January.
Florence Kilgore was born March 17, 1899, at Chillicothe, Ill., to Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kilgore.
She was educated in Estherville schools after she came to Estherville with her parents at the age of three.
She married Claude Griffith Nov. 26, 1920, at Jackson, Minn. She was a member of the Methodist church, WSCS, and charter member of the VFW Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Claude, Estherville; one daughter, Mrs. Howard (Imogene) Croner, Estherville; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one brother and an infant son.
Family services will be Wednesday at 1:30 pm. at the United Methodist Church, followed by public services in the church at 2 p.m. with Rev. Richard Pearson officiating.
Burial will be in the East Side Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home of Estherville from 9 a.m. Tuesday until noon on Wednesday, when the casket will be taken to the church. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 6, 1968)
