Estherville Resident is Dead at 59
Mrs. Russell Eike, 59, died at 12:10 a.m. today at St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato. She was admitted to the hospital Nov. 26 after having been in poor health for some time.She was born Helen Marjorie Keyser June 1, 1909, at Sidney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Keyser.
She was married May 22, 1930, to Russell Eike in Spirit Lake. They lived in Estherville all their married life and for the past 20 years have operated Russ and Helen’s Motel on East Central Avenue.
When she was a young girl, her family moved to the New Ulm, Minn., area and they came to Estherville the year she was a freshman in high school.
She was a longtime member of the Estherville Lutheran Church.
Surviving are her husband, two sons, James of Missoula, Mont., and Jack Ray of Storm Lake; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Joleen) Jensen of Red Wing, Minn., her mother, Mrs. Myrtle Keyser of Sidney, and 10 grandchildren.
She also has four brothers, Harold of Louisville, Ky., Claude of Kansas City, Mo., Maurice of Wilsonville, Neb., and Roscoe of Dunnell, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Estherville Lutheran church with burial at East Side Cemetery.
Friends may call at Fuhrman Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Tuesday until 11 a.m. Wednesday when the body will be taken to the church. There will be a 1:30 family service at the church. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 2, 1968)
