Mrs. Vernon Edwards, 39, Is Dead
Mrs. Vernon Edwards, 39, died at 4:10 a.m. today at Holy Family hospital of Bright’s disease, a kidney ailment. Ill for the past 15 or more years and seriously ill the past year, she had been admitted to the hospital several times in the past three months.She and her husband moved to Estherville a month ago from Ringsted where they had farmed since their marriage Dec. 18, 1946, at the Presbyterian church here. Their Estherville home is 221 North 17th street.
She was born July 9, 1912, and attended the Gruver grade and high school. Her maiden name was Hazel Juhl.
Surviving her death are her husband; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Juhl; a brother, Raymond Juhl, of Estherville; two sisters, Mrs. Harry Jesperson and Mrs. Glenn Hackett of Estherville; and several nieces and nephews. The Edwards had no children.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the John Juhl home and at 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian church, the Rev. Thomas G. Melton officiating. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 12, 1952)
