Mrs. Sadie DeMoss Dies at Age of 77
Mrs. Sadie DeMoss, 77, died at 3:15 yesterday afternoon after a lengthy illness at Holy Family Hospital. She had been hospitalized since last February. Death was due to a series of strokes.

Mrs. DeMoss, formerly Miss Sadie Lester of Colfax, was married to James DeMoss in August, 1906. Mr. and Mrs. DeMoss moved to Estherville in 1944. Before this time they lived in Polk and Palo Alto Counties and for a time in Minnesota.

Mrs. DeMoss is survived by three sons, William DeMoss, Cylinder; Frank and Harold DeMoss, both of Estherville; two daughters, Mrs. Cora Wilhelms, Estherville and Mrs. Leda Stover, Estherville; one brother, John Lester, Newton. Mrs. DeMoss is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. DeMoss was preceded in death by her husband, parents and three grandchildren.

Family funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at First Methodist Church and public service at 2 p.m. The Rev. William R. Noland will officiate.

Friends may call at the Sternborg-Reese Funeral Home after 6 o’clock this evening until 10 o’clock Friday morning when the body will be taken to the church. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 12, 1962)
