Ex-Estherville Woman Dies; Rites Held
Mrs. Alma Cronk Mason died Monday [August 6, 1973] at the North Grand Care Center in Ames. She was 83 years of age.

She was born Alma Engholm, Sept. 25, 1889 in Ft. Dodge and attended the Ft. Dodge school system. She married Harry Cronk and lived in the Estherville area until the late 1940’s. Mr. Harry Cronk preceded her in death in 1944 [1945]. Miss Engholm later married Amos Mason in 1947 and he preceded her in death in 1966. She has lived in Ames since 1966 where she was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Mason is survived by one son, Milton Donald Cronk, Olympia, Wash., a brother, William Engholm, Colorado Springs, Colo.; a sister, Mrs. Elsa Cerwick, Ames; two step-daughters, Mrs. Fern Thompson, Estherville, and Mrs. Mildren Cahalan, Sulphur, Tex.; three grand-daughters, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.

Mrs. Mason was preceded in death by two daughters, Irene Cronk and Mrs. Evelyn Allen, three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held today at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Estherville with the Rev. R.B. Flentgen and Rev. W. F. Siefkes officiating. Burial was at the East Side Cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 8, 1973)
