Susan Christensen spent the weekend of Sept. 24 and 25th at the parental Wilbur Christensen home. She came home to attend the funeral services for her grandfather, Mr. Wilbur Christensen’s father, Herman Cooklin, passed away at the University Hospital at Iowa City on September 21. Funeral services were held at Estherville on Saturday, Sept.25. (Spirit Lake Beacon, Spirit Lake, IA, October 7, 1965)
