Rites Saturday for Irvin A. Christensen
Irvin Albert Christensen, 57, died at his home at 1320 N. Ninth St., Estherville, at 4 p.m. yesterday, July 18, 1972.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Ronald Flentgen officiating. Burial will be made at East Side Cemetery.
Mr. Christensen was born Oct. 28, 1914, at Elk Horn to Chris and Elvera Christensen. He was educated in Audubon schools and married to Velda Molchow Oct. 21, 1945, at Lakefield, Minn.
They lived in Lakefield for three years after their marriage, then moved to Estherville in 1948. He was employed here by the Tobin Packing Plant and later by John Morrell and Co.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Estherville and a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Velda; his mother at the Good Samaritan Center, Mrs. Elvera Christensen; two daughters, Velrie J. Walters in Colorado and Sheila Christensen at home; three grandchildren; one brother, Hartman Christensen, Cudahy, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his father and one infant son.
