Mrs. Carpenter Dies Following Brief Illness
Mrs. C. F. Carpenter died Monday [January 22, 1945] afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at her home on South Eighth street following a short illness.

She was born May 17, 1868, at Dolgeville, N.Y., and came to Emmet county when six months old. Her maiden name was Carrie Louise Clark. She was married to Charles Carpenter March 3, 1892, and lived on a farm south of Estherville until 1910 when they moved to Estherville to make their home.

Mrs. Carpenter is survived by her husband, her brother, R.S. Clark, a nephew, William S. Clark, a niece Margaret Clark and two grandnieces, Lois and Kathryn Clark.

Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Carpenter home. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, January 25, 1945)

Wilson Carpenter left Thursday for his home in Cedar Rapids after attending the funeral of his aunt, Mrs. Charles Carpenter. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Harrington, who attended the funeral, returned Friday to their home in Cedar Rapids. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, February 1, 1945)
