Little Babe Died Last Sunday Evening
The little babe of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Carey, who live in the Gruver community died last Sunday evening quite suddenly. Funeral services were conducted from the Gruver church, Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Herbert Marsh of Dolliver being in charge. Mr. and Mrs. Carey have the sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement.

Little Jessie Elizabeth Carey came to bless the home of her parents, J.E. and Lotta Carey, March 8th, 1921 and was called back to Summerland August 14th, aged 5 months and 6 days. While her stay here on earth was short she brought much sunshine and happiness into the lives of those who knew and loved her, and her going leaves a vacancy that can never be filled but sometime, somewhere, they will all be reunited, where partings and sorrow are no more. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, August 17, 1921)

Jessie Elizabeth, the little five months old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.A. Carey died Sunday night at 12 o’clock at their home at Ryan Lake of cholera infantum. The little one was sick but a few hours when death claimed it. Funeral was held from the Presbyterian church at Gruver. Rev. Herbert Marsh of Dolliver officiated. Funeral was made in the Estherville cemetery. Father and mother, two sisters and six brothers are left to mourn the death of the beloved one. The sympathy of many friends is extended to the sorrowing family. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, August 17, 1921)
