William Burton, 87, Dies
William Burton, 87, died at 9:45 a.m. today at the Balmer Nursing Home. He had been in failing health for several years. Mr. Burton had been a resident of the home for six years. Funeral arrangements are pending at Reese Funeral Home. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 16, 1963)

Burton Rites Are Set
William Burton, 87, longtime resident of Estherville, died Tuesday morning at Balmer Nursing Home. He had lived at the home for six years.

Burton was born on Dec. 3, 1875, son of Mr. and Mrs. Merritt Burton, in Loden. While living in Estherville he operated a dray business and later worked for Harker Lumber Company and the City of Estherville.

He is survived by two nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Reese Chapel with the Rev. Rawlin Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the East Side Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Reese Funeral Home after 9 a.m. Saturday and until time of service on Monday. The casket will not be opened following the service. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 19, 1963)
