Estherville Native Killed In Colorado
Meeker, Colo – Allen Richard Bunge, 25, the son of Dorothy Bunge of Estherville, was fatally injured early Sunday [August 24, 1975] when his car went off a county blacktop and rolled over 1 ½ times near his home at Meeker, Colo.The accident occurred about 20 miles east of Meeker and was reported at 1:45 a.m. Sunday. Bunge was alone in the car at the time of the mishap, according to the Colorado Highway Patrol.
Funeral services for Mr. Bunge will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Estherville with Pastor Paul Wiegman officiating. Burial will be at East Side Cemetery.
Mr. Bunge was born July 4, 1950 at Estherville to Leland and Dorothy Bunge. He graduated from Estherville High School in 1968 and from St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minn., in 1972. He had been employed with the R.E.A. at Meeker, Colo. He was a member Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Dorothy Bunge, Estherville; three brothers, Jim, Hartley; Steve, a student at the University of Iowa in Iowa City; and John, at home; and one sister, Kathy, a student at Iowa State University in Ames; a maternal grandmother, Mrs. Beulah Rathbun, Estherville; and a paternal grandmother, Mrs. Louise Bunge, Bellevue. He was preceded in death by his father.
