Mrs. Chas. Gustafson Dies on Wednesday [May 6, 1942] P.M. After a Long Siege of Poor Health
Mrs. Charles Gustafson passed away Wednesday afternoon after a long siege of illness from cancer.

Carrie Grems was born May 20, 1886 in Swan Lake township and received her education and spent her girlhood days in that vicinity. In the year 1911 she was united in marriage to Alexander Buck. To this union one daughter was born, who was named Irene. Mr. Buck died in October, 1924. Eight years later Mrs. Buck was married to Charles Gustafson, who was the father of five children.

Besides her husband she is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Arthur Ball of Bingham Lake, Minn.; five stepchildren, Mrs. John Aanonson and Mrs. Kenneth Meadows of Estherville; Clark Gustafson of Ormsby, Minn.; Roy Gustafson of Fairmont, Minn.; and Pvt. L. Gustafson, who is stationed in San Francisco, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Wm. G. Harvey of Gruver; two brothers, Walter Grems of Gruver; George Grems of Rock Island, Ill. and two half brothers, John Goldsberry of Gruver and Roy Goldsberry of Hollandale, Minn. She also has two grandchildren surviving. Two brothers preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2:15 Friday afternoon in the Mahlum and Anderson chapel and at the Presbyterian church at 2:30 with Rev. Claude Fausnaugh officiating. Burial will take place in the East Side cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Eli Erickson, Merle Moller, Carl Shaw, John Darling, Thomas Juhl and Harry Cropley. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, May 7, 1942)
