Andrew Buck Passed Away Last Sunday
Andrew W. Buck passed away at his home on First Ave. North last Sunday [August 28, 1938] night after a long illness. “Andy,” as he was known to his acquaintances has resided in Emmet county for the past 40 years. He was born on February 4, 1873 at Morris, Ill. He and a twin brother came to Emmet county to farm. He was united in marriage to Frances Groves of this city in Estherville, Oct. 27, 1907. About 20 years ago he retired from the farm and moved to this city to make his home.

Mr. Buck was a quiet unassuming man. He made friends easily and kept them as easily as he made them. He intentionally offended no one.

He is survived by his wife, four brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Mahlum and Anderson funeral chapel. The Rev. Claude Fausnaugh officiated. Interment was made in the East Side cemetery. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, September 1, 1938)

Had Resided in Emmet County 40 Years; Funeral Wednesday
Funeral services for Andrew W. Buck, 64, who died in his home in Estherville Sunday morning following a long illness will be held at 2 p.m. in the Mahlum and Anderson chapel with the Rev. Claude Fausnaugh officiating. Pallbearers will be Clyde Sanborn, Harold Mokelstad, H. N. Schrodt, James Rainey and George Berven. Burial will be in the East Side cemetery.

Andrew Buck was born Feb. 4, 1873 in Morris, Ill. He came to Emmet county forty years ago with his twin brother and settled on a farm. On Oct. 27, 1907 he married Frances Groves in Estherville. Twenty years ago he retired from his farm and moved to Estherville, where he resided until his death.

Surviving him are his wife, four brothers, Archie, Jess, Bert, John and two sisters, Mrs. E. Swaidner and Mrs. Nellie Rumble. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, August 30, 1938)
