Ed Brandt Dies at 47
Edward (Ed) Brandt, 47, a former resident of Estherville, died yesterday in Aurora, Colo.

He was employed by the Rock Island Railroad and did construction work in Estherville before moving to Colorado 10 years ago.

Edward G. Brandt was born May 22, 1919, in Tostan, Mont., the son of Ivar and Lydia Brandt.

He attended school in the Estherville area and enlisted in the Navy before Pearl Harbor serving six years during World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Luclla; a son, James; a daughter, Penny; and his mother.

Other survivors include sisters, Mrs. Wayne (Florine) Vandevanter, Mrs. Arnold Hockett, Mrs. Gilbert (Mary) Stevens, and brothers Harry and Doug Brandt, all of Estherville; a sister, Mrs. Glen (Minne) Grieves of Odessa, Tex., and a brother, George Brandt of Humboldt.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd and Charles, and his father, Ivar. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 16, 1966)

Final Rites on Sunday
Funeral services for Edward Brandt, 47, former Estherville resident, who died Tuesday in Aurora, Colo., will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in First Methodist Church here, Rev. C. R. Buckwalter officiating. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery.

A family service will be at 12:15 p.m. at Fuhrman Funeral Home.

Friends may call at the funeral home from noon Saturday until 12:30 Sunday when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until time of services.

Pallbearers will be nephews of Mr. Brandt, Tom Brandt, Dale Brandt, Gary Wilson, David Grieve, Donald Hockett, and Dennis Brandt.

Mr. Brandt is survived by his wife; a son, James; and a daughter, Penny of Aurora; his mother, Mrs. Ivar (Lydia) Brandt of Estherville; four sisters, Mrs. Wayne (Florine) Vandevanter, Mrs. Arnold (Margaret) Hockett, Mrs. Gilbert (Mary) Stevens, all of Estherville, and Mrs. Glen (Minne) Grieves of Odessa, Tex.; three brothers, Harry and Doug Brandt of Estherville, and George of Humboldt.

He was preceded in deth by his father and two brothers, Floyd and Charles. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 18, 1966)
