Lloyd Boone, Jewelry Store Owner, Dies
Lloyd N. Boone, sr., 62, proprietor of Boone’s jewelry store in Estherville, died 5:30 a.m. today in Holy Family hospital. Death came as a result of diabetes and complications. He had been ill about three weeks.Boone had been in business for himself in Estherville for about 21 years, was a member of the Estherville Christian church and of Cammandry chapter of Masonic lodge.
He was born Dec. 20, 1887 at Traer, son of Dr. and Mrs. C.M. Boone. He received his education in the Traer public schools. Jan. 8, 1913 he was married to Marie Benson of Spirit Lake. The couple moved to Emmet county about 40 years ago, living first near Wallingford where they farmed for about 10 years before moving to Estherville.
In Estherville, he first worked about nine years for the Jay Johnston drug and jewelry firm before going into business for himself.
Survivors include his wife, three sons, Lloyd Jr., of Culver City, Calif., Ralph of Estherville and Warren of Sioux City; two daughters, Mrs. Howard Beaver of Clinton and Jean of Estherville, and a sister, Mrs. Nels Osher of Wallingford. He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel, killed in World War Two and a brother who died in 1918. Four grandchildren, Jack, Richard and Willard Beaver, of Clinton and Cheryl Boone of Sioux City, also survive.

Boone Services Monday
Services for Lloyd N. Boone, sr., will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday at Sandin Funeral home and 2 p.m. at Estherville Christian church, the Rev. Gordon Hagberg officiating. Burial will be at East Side cemetery. Friends who wish to pay their last respects may call at Sandin Funeral home any time up to hour of services. Masons have been requested to meet in a body at their lodge about 1:15 preparatory to attending the services. Boone, a Mason, belonged to Blue lodge, Chapter and Commandry.
