Oscar Isaacs Dies
Oscar Isaacs died this morning at the Veterans Hospital in Sioux Falls, where he had been a patient for a few weeks. Funeral arrangements are pending at Reese-Henry Funeral Home. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 13, 1969)

Services Friday for O.R. Isaacs, 63, Estherville
Oscar Ralph Isaacs, 63, of Estherville died at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Veterans hospital in Sioux Falls from a heart condition. He had been in failing health the past three years.

He was born March 23, 1906, at Early, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Isaacs. He was educated in Early schools.

Mr. Isaacs and Viola Campbell were married June 15, 1946 at Troy, Kans. They moved here that year. He was employed by Hill Packing Co. and later by the City of Estherville. He retired three years ago because of ill health.

He was a veteran of World War II, a member of V.F.W. and the American Legion, and was a member of the United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Viola, one step-daughter, Mrs. Glenn (Arlene) Heggen of Denver, Colo., three grandchildren, Gary Lee, Gordon and Sandra Heggen; his mother, Mrs. Alice Isaacs of Early; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Hazen of Early; and four brothers, Luther of Storm Lake, Roy of Ontario, Calif., Merton of Los Angeles, and Oliver of Portland, Ore.

He was preceded in death by his father, one brother and a sister.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Reese-Henry Funeral Home in Estherville, the Rev. Charles St. Lawrence officiating.

Burial will be in East Side cemetery with military graveside rites. Friends may call at Reese-Henry Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today until time of the service on Friday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 14, 1969)

Killed in Vietnam
Gregory L. Heggen, a grandson of Oscar Isaacs, preceded him in death. Gregory was killed in Vietnam on Nov. 1, 1968. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 16, 1969)
