MRS. BARRETT'S FUNERAL TO BE HELD TOMORROW
Funeral services for Mrs. O. D. (Mary E. Phillips) Barrett, 76, of Estherville will be held tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. at the Methodist church with the Rev. F. W. Ortmeyer in charge. Mrs. Barrett died at 3:00 a.m. yesterday at the Coleman hospital following an operation Sunday. She is survived by her husband; two sons, Leonard and Frank, both of Estherville, and a daughter, Mrs. Willard (Esther Barrett) Crim of Estherville; and 15 grandchildren.

Burial will be in the East Side cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, Iowa, April 29, 1942)

Aged Lady Called to Reward
Mrs. O. D. Barrett Fails to Rally From Serious Operation; Funeral at 2:30 P.M.
Mrs. Otis D. Barrett, age 76, passed away in the Coleman hospital at 3:00 A.M. Tuesday [April 28, 1942] morning. She was taken to the hospital Sunday morning for an operation, and failed to recover.

Mrs. Barrett is a longtime resident of this community, and was well known by many. She was a member of the Methodist church.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Leonard and Frank Barrett, one daughter, Mrs. Willard Crim, all of Estherville. One son preceded her in death several years ago.

Eighteen grandchildren who also mourn the loss of a grandmother are Mrs. Cecil Wiseman, Ruth Barrett, Marybelle Barrett, Raymond Barrett, Jack Barrett, Vance Crim, Wayne Crim, Mrs. Hogan Hoganson, Dale Barrett and Ronald Barrett, all of Estherville; Earl Barrett, Australia; Mrs. Junior Hanson, Titonka, Iowa; Mrs. Jack Hogan, Marengo, Iowa; Leonard Barrett, Calif., and Mrs. John Smith of Albert Lea, Minn.

Funeral services were held this (Thursday) afternoon at the Methodist church at 2:30 with Rev. Ortmeyer officiating. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, April 30, 1942)
