Word was received by N. A. Andrews that Mrs. Andrews had died at the home of her niece, Mrs. Nellie Pierce, at Waterloo Monday. Mrs. Andrews had been in failing health for several years but the end came suddenly. Mr. Andrews and son, Art, drove to Waterloo Tuesday morning to make funeral arrangements. The body will be brought to Estherville and laid beside her children who have preceded her in death. Mrs. Andrews leaves a husband and four sons to mourn her loss. Obituary will be given next week. The funeral of Mrs. N. A. Andrews was held at the Presbyterian church at Gruver Thursday morning. Rev. Palge preaching the funeral sermon. The beautiful offerings of flowers and the number attending showed the love and esteem Mrs. Andrews was held in, in this vicinity. Mrs. Andrews was a charter member of the Presbyterian Ladies League and was an active member until her illness. All her children were present at the funeral, her son John coming from Minneapolis; also her half sister, Mrs. Minnie Baird of Charles City; and niece, Mrs. H. M. Pierce, of Waterloo. She was laid to rest beside a daughter and two sons who has preceded her in death in the East Side cemetery. Sympathy is extended the husband and sons in their loss of a good wife and mother. Mrs. Katie Andrews was born September 27, 1851, at Utica, N.Y. She came to Iowa at the age of 16 years. September 26, 1876 she was united in marriage to Mr. Nelson A. Andrews and to this union were born eight children, 6 boys, John J., H. A., H. C., Norman F., Ralph and Johnnie; and two daughters, Ethel May and Jessie.

Mrs. Katie Andrews united with the Baptist church at Waterloo, Ia., 1874, transferred her membership to Swan Lake Presbyterian church in the year 1890 and was an earnest and active member until hindered by illness a few years ago. She passed away February 14, 1927, at Waterloo, Iowa.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, Mr. Nelson A. Andrews, and four sons, J. W., H. A., A. C., and N. F. Andrews; one brother, John Lance of Winslow, Iowa; one niece, Mrs. H. M. Pierce of Waterloo, Iowa; a half sister, Mrs. Minnie Baird, of Charles City, Iowa; and many friends in and around Gruver, Iowa. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, February 23, 1927)
