Mr. Anderson was born Jan. 29, 1889, on a farm northeast of Estherville, now occupied by his brother, Henry J. Anderson. He was the son of Nels Anderson, pioneer Emmet county farmers. After obtaining his education in the Emmet county rural and public schools. Mr. Anderson entered his chosen profession, farming, locating on a farm northeast of Estherville.

He was united in marriage with Miss Mathilda [Myhre] Anderson, of Estherville, on Sept. 11, 1913. Two daughters, LaVonne, now Mrs. Wayne Crim, and Delores Anderson, were born to the couple.

In January, 1938, because of ill health, Mr. Anderson was forced to retire from the farm and the family moved to Estherville where they have since made their home at 1009 north Sixth street.

Mr. Anderson had sought medical aid and assistance from doctors and hospitals throughout the country but they seemed unable to diagnose his ailment or prescribe a cure. He had planned to return to the hospital at Rochester, Minn., in a few weeks for further treatment. He was able to be up and around until last week when his condition became more serious and he became bedfast. He gradually became weaker until death relieved him of his suffering.

Although a quiet and unassuming person, Mr. Anderson was a man who made friends wherever he went. He was one of Emmet county’s progressive and influential farmers while actively engaged in this profession. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith as a young man and has taken an active interest in all the affairs of this organization.

Beside his widow and daughters, Mr. Anderson is survived by two brothers, Henry J.
