Oley Anderson, 75, Dies; Rites Will Be Tuesday
Oley Anderson, 75, Estherville, died Saturday [April 11, 1970] morning, apparently from a heart attack, while en route to Holy Family Hospital by car.

He was born April 18, 1894, at Madrid to Mr. and Mrs. Peter Anderson. He was educated in the Madrid schools and International Correspondence School at Waterloo.

On Aug. 28, 1919, he was married to Clara Ellis at Estherville. She preceded him in death. On June 27, 1957, he was married to Florine Wells at Estherville. He came to Estherville in 1910 and was employed as a work inspector by the Rock Island Railroad. He entered the Army in 1917 and served for two years. Then he returned to work for the Rock Island Railroad.

Later he was in the produce business in Estherville and owned and operated the Skelly Tank Wagon for 21 years. He retired in 1960.

He is survived by his wife, Florine, of Estherville; one brother, James, El Monte, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Reese-Henry Chapel in Estherville with Rev. Robert Karl Miller officiating. Burial at East Side Cemetery will follow military graveside services.

Friends may call at the funeral home anytime today until time of services on Tuesday.

All World War I veterans are to meet at the Henry-Reese Funeral Home at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday for the funeral of Oley Anderson. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 13, 1970)
