Mrs. Anderson Dies of Heart Attack at 70
Mrs. William R. (Mathilda) Anderson, 70, well-known lifetime resident of Emmet County, died last night at 9:20 at Holy Family Hospital, where she was taken after suffering a heart attack shortly before noon yesterday.

Mrs. Anderson had been in good health and was to entertain members of her club at her home yesterday afternoon. She had no previous history of heart trouble, according to members of her family.

The former Mathilda Myhre was born June 7, 1892 at the farm home of her parents, Ole and Gunhild Myhre, and received her elementary education in the Emmet County schools. She was graduated from St. Olaf Academy at Northfield, Minn., and taught for a few years in the Emmet County rural schools.

She was married in September, 1912 to William R. Anderson here in Estherville and the couple farmed for many years in the Estherville area before retiring and moving to Estherville in 1938.

Mr. Anderson died in January, 1942.

Mrs. Anderson was baptized and confirmed in the Estherville Lutheran Church in her youth and had continued to be active in church work all through the years.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Lavonne) Crim, Estherville, and Mrs. Robert (Delores) Rogers, Denison. Also five grandchildren, Cheryl and Bill Crim and Barbara, Becky and Walter Rogers; one sister, Mrs. H. R. Portman, and one brother, Oscar B. Myhre, both of Estherville.

Funeral services for Mrs. Anderson are to be Thursday at Estherville Lutheran Church, a 1:30 p.m. family service to be followed by services at 2 p.m., the Rev. L. A. Mathre and the Rev. David Samuelson of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in East Side cemetery.

Friends may call at Sandin-Fuhrman Funeral Home from Wednesday noon until Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at which time the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until time of the services. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 10, 1962)
