Mrs. Marie Elce dies; services set Tuesday
Mrs. Marie Elce, 92, Estherville, died at 10:45 p.m. Friday, April 30, at the Good Samaritan Home.She was born April 22, 1879, on a farm near Fennimore, Wis. Her parents were Jacob and Anna Whitish.
On Nov. 22, 1905, she was married to Peter Lemanski at Fennimore, Wis. He died in June, 1909. On Oct. 6, 1910, she was married to Sydney Elce at Estherville. She made her home in Estherville since that time. Mr. Elce died in 1953.
She is survived by one son, Melvin Lemanski, Freeport, Ill.; two grandsons, two granddaughters, six nephews and four nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, Hollis Elce, who died Nov. 8, 1935, her parents and four brothers.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick’s Church, Estherville, with Msgr. James H. Duhigg officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery at Fennimore, Wis., at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Friends may call anytime until the time of services at Fuhrman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Vincent Maloney, George W. Calhan, Floyd L. Gustafson, Charles B. Mace, Harry Jones and Art H. Schutlz. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 3, 1971)
