Heart Attack Fatal to Local Man
Charles Francis Waldron, 52, died suddenly at 7 p.m. Saturday [January 5, 1952] of a heart attack at Holy Family hospital. He was taken to the hospital at about 1:30 p.m. and died a short time later.Mr. Waldron was born Dec. 10, 1900, at Sibley and moved with his family to Estherville where he has spent most of his life. He was educated in the Estherville public schools.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus lodge and a member of the Estherville fire department until he suffered a heart attack, four years ago. He continued off and on as a volunteer fireman until a year ago.
He married Mary Morrissey Nov. 12, 1927, and the couple planned to observe their silver wedding anniversary this year.
He worked for the city for a year and for the county for six years in construction work. He then worked for the Estherville Cooperative creamery until 1947.
He is survived by his five children, Mary Lou, Jack, Jimmy and Peggy, all at home; Mrs. Galen (Patricia) Origer of Estherville, and two grandsons, Michael and Patrick Origer; his mother, Mrs. John Waldron, and three brothers, Leonard of Sioux City, R. G. Waldron of Des Moines and John Waldron of Los Angeles; two sisters, Mrs. Edgar Center of Estherville, Mrs. E. Price of Duncomb.
His father died two years ago.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. tomorrow at St. Patrick’s Catholic church, the Rev. Fr. James H. Duhigg in charge. Rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. today at the Waldron home, 420 North Fifth street. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 7, 1952)
