William Emery "Bill" Origer 1929-2010

ESTHERVILLE - Mass of Christian Burial for William "Bill" Origer, 81, of Estherville will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Estherville with Father Brian Hughes as Celebrant. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville with Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Interment will be at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Estherville with military graveside rites by VFW Post 3388 and American Legion Post 91.

He died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010, at Rosewood Manor in Estherville.

William Emery Origer, the son of Joseph Matthew and Imogene Ellen (Burns) Origer, was born Sept. 2, 1929, in Estherville.

William received his education in the Gruver schools, graduating from Gruver High School in 1949. He served in the U.S. Army as PFC during the Korean Conflict..William farmed and lived in rural Estherville and had a farming partnership with his brothers, Bob and Merrill.

On Sept. 5, 1975, he was united in marriage to Evelyn (Hanson) Moeding in Estherville. Bill had a passion for poetry that he recited by memory.

He was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church and church choir. Bill was a life-time member and past Commander of the VFW Post #3388. For many years he volunteered at BINGO.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Evelyn, of Estherville; children, Dana Moeding of Estherville, Diane Haisman and her husband, Kenny, of Estherville and Margaret Gebel and her husband, Rick, of Estherville; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Imogene Dessel of Harrison, Ark., John Origer of Estherville and Catherine Kueny of Omaha, Neb.; sisters-in-law, Joann Origer of Mesquite, Nev. and JoAnn Origer of Estherville and also by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Deb Johnson; sister, Mary and brothers, Joseph, Galen, Lewis, Merrill and twin, Bob. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA)
