Mrs. P. Scholtes Laid to Rest
The remains of Mrs. Anna Scholtes, wife of Peter Scholtes, Sr., of this city, were brought here last Wednesday from St. Peter, Minn., for burial. The services were held in the Catholic church in this city on April 26, the Rev. Father Murtagh officiating. The services were to be held at an earlier date but children from the west were delayed in arriving and the services were attended by all the children but the one in service in France.

Mrs. Scholtes was born sixty-four years ago in Neurenburg, Germany, and with her husband came to this country in 1880 and settled in Northern Minnesota. Later they moved to Ellsworth, Minn., where they resided for a quarter of a century, and about two years ago the family moved to this city. Mrs. Scholtes has reared an excellent family of twelve children who give good testimony of the fact that they had an excellent mother to guide their early steps.

She leaves to mourn her death, her husband, Peter Scholtes, Sr., and sons and daughters, Peter Scholtes, Jr. and Mathew Scholtes of this city; H. N. Scholtes of Titonka, Mrs. P. L. Gannon of Millbank, S.D., Sister M. Winfred, Iona, Minn., Mrs. D. L. Haley, Manley, Iowa, Misses Josephine, Elizabeth and Rose Scholtes and John Scholtes of this city, and Francis Scholtes who is now serving his country in France.
