Anton Ricke Suffered Fatal Attack Saturday
Anton Ricke died very suddenly Saturday [August 9, 1947] at Holy Family Hospital fifteen minutes after he was picked up on the street with a severe heart attack. He had suffered a similar attack some three years ago but had been feeling well of late.

He had taken a bus to the corner of Central and Sixth, their regular stop. He was crossing the street to the south when stricken.

Mr. Ricke had farmed near Gruver for years and retired some five years ago and moved to this city.

Mr. Ricke was born in Carroll County, April 6, 1880. He resided there with his parents until his marriage to Mary Fleege at Breda. They resided on a farm in that county until 1935 when they moved to the Gruver vicinity. He was a devoted member of the Catholic church and a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters.

He is survived by his widow and three sons, Irwin of Gruver, and Lawrence and Victor of this city.

Funeral services were held from the Catholic Church Tuesday at 9 A.M. Interment was made in the Catholic cemetery south of the city. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, August 14, 1947)
